Healthy Tailgating

Fall calls for football and with football comes tailgating.  It is difficult to find healthy tailgating foods but I'm here to help!

One of my favorite things before my weight loss journey were brauts.  Brauts are typically not healthy, but J and I tried chicken sausages a long time ago and they are the best without the calories or weight watcher points.  I personally like sweet Italian chicken sausages best.  A chicken sausage on a whole wheat bun is 6 points.  Not too bad.  I like serving my chicken sausage with wheat pasta salad.

For the wheat pasta salad you will need:

Fat Free Italian Dressing
Parmesan Cheese
2 tomatoes
Sweet Peppers
Whole Wheat Rotini

Cook the pasta as directed.  Chop the tomatoes and peppers.  Once the pasta is cooked, drain and add to the tomatoes and peppers.  Then add the container of dressing and 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese.  Mix well and refrigerate to cool.

A cup of the pasta salad is 4 points.

This is a perfect tailgate option that is healthy too!
